Interested in volunteering? Want to get involved?

Our adult Leaders and Assistants give their time voluntarily, as do all those behind the scenes helping keep the Scout Group running.

Pyrford Scout Group
We welcome enquiries from adults who would like to help or support the running of our Scout Group, whether or not they wish to go into uniform. There are literally hundreds of roles you can do including everything from helping run Troop meetings to maintenance of kit and premises. There are no fixed hours or expectations and we all give as much or as little as we feel able to do. Please use the email address on our Contact Us page or speak with any of our adult Leaders.

You don’t need to wear a uniform to help out, and how much time you give is completely up to you. We’ll make sure you receive the proper training and support where your role requires it.

General information on volunteering can be found on the Scout Association website here.

SASU
The Scout Active Support Unit (SASU) is open to anyone over the age of 18 and is a way for adults to volunteer time to Scouting in a flexible way that suits them. There is no requirement to have been involved in Scouting before joining. All that is required is a willingness to volunteer some time to support Scouting.

Network Scouts

Young adults aged 18 to 25 who want to continue in Scouting may be interested in joining Network Scouts. As well as doing Scouting activities with other like-minded young adults, Network Scouts can also be adult Leaders, be part of a SASU and can assist in other Scouting Sections.
